A LITTLE ABOUT ME
My photography journey started when I was just a child. One day, I discovered my mom's Polaroid Instant Camera while digging through storage bins in the closet. Something about the oddly shaped green device caught my eye, so I picked it up not knowing exactly what it was. Within seconds, I realized what I was holding and immediately felt a rush of excitement. Over the years, I used my mom's camera to document everything I found interesting, from the bluebirds cackling at the birdfeeder to the blossoms on the magnolia tree in the backyard. I grew up in the country on 10 acres and had a fascination for plants, wildlife, and everything in between. As a result, most of my photographs were nature-inspired. Every time I took a picture, I remember the feeling of anticipation as I waited for the image to develop. Fast forward 2 decades and I still love doing the same thing - with a digital camera of course!
In 2015, I graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. I majored in international business and entrepreneurship because I enjoyed traveling and knew I wanted to start my own business someday. I spent my second to last semester studying abroad in Mendoza, Argentina where I explored the vastness of Patagonia and drank as much as much mate as I could get my hands on. After graduating from college, I held several graphic design and marketing-related positions before starting my own photography business.
I started freelancing as a photographer in 2020 and officially launched Sara Turbyfill Photography 2 years later. My specialties include couples, families, and graduating seniors; however, I also provide my services for event photography, individual portraits, maternity photos, and newborn photography. I'm a Certified Professional Photographer, meaning I completed an image submission and written examination to prove my technical competence in photography. As a full-service photographer, I work with my clients to create one-of-a-kind experiences to tell their unique stories. I offer a wide range of products and services, including digital images, high-quality prints, and professional retouching. When I'm not behind the camera, I enjoy birdwatching, wildlife photography, and traveling around the great state of Colorado in my teardrop camper. I'm also a graphic designer and have a business called Sara Turbyfill Design.
